Just tried this last night in a gi-normous parking lot at a ski area that had about a foot of fresh pow on top of packed pow. Loved it! I like a little controlled drift. Probably won't use this function on glaze or full on black ice, but packed snow, definitely. Fact is, I did not even know about this bifurcated functionality re the Traction Control. Must need to re-read my manual. Thanks for the tip.
