Do you know what the package configs were on the 2014s that you drove? Ordinary I would say that the 2014s that you drove probably had active steering (part of the dynamic handling package) and the 2012 did not.

However, I happen to know that there are no 2014s on the ground at any dealer anywhere with the dynamic handling package on it. However, that may not be true if cars can be hidden from the dealer search engine (can they do that?) or if the car is previously titled.

Is it possible for them to add active steering w/o adaptive drive or vice versa? I certainly would want AD but no AS (like I have now).

My 2012 X6 (no AS) steers much like my old E53 X5. I liked it a lot. However, if you have a rotator cuff injury, navigating parking lots can be painful. And I should says 'steered'. It doesn't do so much steering anymore. My baby is not going to make it out of the hospital alive
