I can only give you my experience with my 2010 X5d--and I know you're looking for an X5. But the d is a great car. I'm a total convert. I live in the mountains and with the d I get plenty of power and torque on winding roads and driving into higher altitudes. Also, may be just me, but I'd always rather have a new car--especially with the credits, rebates, etc.--than an expensive pre-owned car, no matter how much it's certified.
