As fun as manual cars are the conversions are not cheap - I think you're better off replacing the accumulator and hoping the pump doesn't die or finding a 2nd hand one from a low km wreck or possibly even getting a cheap one from Germany.
..Or trade up to an E46 SMG

I gave bmuu a call today but I was advised that the Snr mechanic who has the experience with conversions isn't in at the moment. I think it was Tony I spoke to - he too advised the same thing - fix it up with the accumulator if required and sell it off. I am leaning towards this path now
