That's exactly what we did. Exported our X6 to the US, registered it in FL and bought a 3yr extended warranty, just for piece of mind. Came out to a grand/yr, February will make the 2nd yr. After the 3rd year, we're on our own.
Just hoping that the fact we don't put many miles on it keeps her in good shape. We have +/- 40k miles on her, regular oil changes and she's on a Battery Minder 2012AGM trickle-charger.
