Confusion came from the fact that the most of (not sure whether it was all) M cars have used 10W-60 before. When the part guy on the counter first heard just "M" even though I said X6M, he told me to go with 10W-60 without checking anything. Then 3-4 months later, I went in again for some more but this time I happened to talk to a service guy I always go with. He said that 5W-30 is the correct one. So, I had to ask him to double-check it and he showed me his computer screen. 10W-60 is for the high revving non-turbo M cars. A service guy just gave me 3 bottles of 5W-30 without any charge so I don't have to come back for a while.
