Not sure which warranty you are referring too,totally agree to be careful thou.
The PWI one I was shown does put in writing what was not covered-everything else was,excluded the usual maintenance items,trim,lamps and any aftermarket add-on's.

I ran a transmission shop for a few years and dealt with a number of them, many would not cover fluids,shop fee's or enough of the labor leaving some of the bill to customer. The other huge issue then was how many went out of business.
