I have a few physical limitations (I can't bend like a monkey anymore but manage to get things done) but I was able to add aftermarket rear view camera to my x5, took me longer than most but it got done.

So the questions:
has anyone run wires through the firewall, if so did you use an existing grommet or drill new hole (trying to avoid drilling holes).

is there a trick to removing the panel above the passenger foot well to gain access to wires coming from engine compartment ? or better place ?

I was thinking of running power wire from fuse box in rear to front passenger side to power the control module or do you think I should mount control module in rear by fuse box.

finally if anyone has installed one of these, any tips or tricks.
like where did you put miniature controller and text display, again trying not to drill holes and use the adhesive back.

Thanks
I am interested in doing this too. Please post some step by step instructions with pics preferably if you tackle this yourself.

I hope someone chimes in that has done this on either an X6 or X5. I am doubtful we will get any other X6 DIYers chiming in. Probably with these vehicles is that there are so few out there unlike the 3 series or 5 series!
