I was thinking of putting thicker tyre profile like 265/50r20 for the front and 285/50r20 for the rear... I just wondering whether this setup is ok without any rubbing? anyone has those setup in this forum? Any inputs will be very appreciated...Thanks
Your primary and MOST important concern should not be the rubbing ... you must maintain the correct "ratio" between different tires size on the front and rear axles! Because of the permanent 4-wheel drive characteristics of the X5, you can damage the transfer case gears, because the tire/wheels turn at different speeds, if the tire size varies from the front to the rear! Size 275/45x20 is at the max that can be allowed, and you'll have to mount this size front and rear to keep the ratio the same ...
