All you have to do is change your steering switch cluster to one that has the connection for the paddles. And you have to make sure your paddles are resistance based. I promised a DIY but I was working on the heated steering as you already know. Post a pic of your steering and I will guide you. Your 2012 x50 is almost certainly prewired.
