Is the flip valve what makes the exhaust come out of only one pipe? I know that when I start my car, the exhaust and sound come out of only the left pipe. Later on its both. Does that mean that I still have my flip valve, or is that something else?

I think your flip valve has been removed.
If it is there, the right side will never become active unless you go over a certain RPM.
