Go and drive both. I have recently purchased the twin turbo diesel X5. I drove all the similar class cars Q5, Q7, Touareg and the X5.
The build quality is similar on all, but the ride and handling is way sharper in the Bimmer - but you expect that with 275 fronts and 315 rears and less body roll than a WRX... Test driving is fun!!
