BMW's are more suited for the shorter sprint races, especially on the tight street courses. They have the most downforce in the class.

Corvette is designed first and foremost to win 24hr Le Mans, so it excels at more open tracks with long straights(Road America, Road Atlanta, Daytona, etc.)

BMW should be quick at Laguna Seca as well (more technical track).
