I wanted to let my local BMW dealership perform this retrofit, they refused to do it. Told me they do not have enough technical knowledge to get it done. Apparently this retrofit is not available in USA, only Europe from what I understand. Basically, what BMW dealership told me is that BMW of NA will not support them with this retrofit and provide any technical information in case something does not go 100% during the installation / coding. Therefore, I attempted to do it myself and glad that I did. Saved close to $1K by doing it myself, gained great experience and spent all day outside, working on my X6M (which is much more enjoyable that letting dealership perform the operation
