Did it take much convincing? Sure. Initially the SA said there was a cost for the unit and then it has to be painted which is another cost. I said wait a minute: this vehicle has less than 12000 miles on it and there was no evidence of any impact resulting in the tow hook cover disappearing. its a mechanical or design issue. He said he would talk with BMW. Five days later they the dealer called and said its approved without charge for the part or painting. I suspect BMW knows there is a weakness in the covers attachment system. it probably doesn't hurt that I have another dealer equally as close which I could go to :>)
