My wife backed my X5 out of the driveway and error codes appeared. She thinks it might have said to take the care for service immediately. She said the car was not driving smoothly in reverse, but had no problem on the way to mechanics (about 1.5 miles)

She took it to an independent mechanic who has serviced the car in the past and the following codes were found:

150 CAN ENGINE SPEED
37 MAIN RELAY
83 CRANK SENSOR
244 SEGMENT TIMING

The mechanic changed the oil as it was low and needed oil. He said the transmission fluid looked like it needed replacing. The mechanic said he could not determine from the codes exactly what was necessary to repair it. He did say both front lower rear control arms (ball joints) were worn and the left front C/V axle shaft boot is torn, but does not believe they are related to the codes.

Anyone have any experience with above codes on their vehicles. Thank you in advance.

Some additional info: it is a 3.0 with about 53k. Per mechanic tranny fluid had slight burnt smell. After changin oil no further messages displayed on dash screen.
