I just got some damage to the hood of my X5M and am going to get the domed/bulged hood as a replacement. I went to my shop this morning and they say that they would need to blend the paint on the front fenders in order to get a proper paint match.

Depends on the color of your X5M, my bodyshop just painted the hood and they did a great job.I did leave my SUV there so they can get the color match as close as possible.
