The best thing you can do for your car, in terms of gasoline, is to be consistent with the product you use. Mixing isn't bad, but you're going to gain the most benefit by consistently choosing the same brand since they design the brand to specifically benefit from repeated use. People all have their favorite brand of gasoline. It's best to choose one from this list and stick with it. Going with the one most commonly found in your area is the easiest. I personally try to balance between the most common one, and the one with the most detergents as found from research papers on gasoline.

Also, if you don't find your favorite brand and you are traveling, it's obviously better to just fill up with something else than to run the fuel pump dry Don't get too OCD over it.
