When you engage the M button the feel you are talking about is much more pronounced without it engaged. Still better ride geometry in comparison to stock, but for me the true benefit of this mod is when the M button is engaged from my perspective.

The steering wheel feel in this SUV is much heavier than what I have ever been used to. Especially getting into my M3 where the turning and steering feel is instant. To answer your question yes I certainly did feel an improvement over stock.
