It sounds like valve supposed to be open instantly when M button is pressed, I guess something is wrong with mine then, I've parked my car with car running, pressed M button and looked at the valves and they are still closed, I'll ask my SA again and bring the car in if this true.

Put it in drive. It won't open the valve in park. The shifter position doesn't matter.
