I finally pulled the trigger and ordered an aluminum X6M "powerdome" hood for my 2011 X5M!
Hood and accessories arrived this morning and were delivered to the paint shop
. They can't get to it until next week, but I snapped a teaser pic of the new hood in it's box when I inspected it at the dealers.
Can't see the "powerdome" part in the pic, sorry about that, I snapped the pic as they were boxing it back up to load it on the truck for delivery to the paint shop! They were in a hurry to finish loading everything and get going, so I didn't have time to get any more shots.
Also, the new hood is noticeably lighter when compared to the original hood. Obviously won't make a huge difference with a 5300 lb vehicle, but every little bit helps!
I'll try to get some pics while it's at the paint shop before, during and after color matching and installation and then get them posted. They estimate it will take around three days to complete once they get started.
