I don't know russian, but if you look through the diagrams he posted, he actually said something else.

Pin #2 and #4 from the slip ring actually go to #10 and ground respectively: the problem I have with that diagram he posted is that the pin line out is different than ours. So it may not correspond... But it makes me think that the way it's wired depends on whether the paddles are switch or resistance where one single pin carries both up and down.
