Right, collectable does not mean investment. Two different things in my mind (that rarely, but occasionally overlap). Cars in general are horrible investments (certainly there are exceptions) and you'd have to not drive it often to even contemplate the car as an investment. Now a collectable on the other hand, can be enjoyed and shared, etc.

In the end though, I agree with you: if the OP wants the money for other things, selling is the way to go.
