Curious Porsche uses the same Bosch injectors but don't have the same issue. My conclusion is that part of the fuel system BMW used is sensitive to ethanol and it's melting and breaking up and causing the injectors to get clogged. But it would cause them millions to do a recall to replace those components, so it is cheaper just to replace the injectors when there is a CEL..

My conspiracy theory...
