I'm new here and have been looking at add-on's as well. According to Velos, the software change made isn't something that can be detected by BMW maintenance technicians. If so, then there wouldn't be any warranty issues. It can be changed back to stock at any time I think with just the programmer you can keep in glove box. This may be the same with other vendors as well. I have yet to hear of a side by side comparison of the competing vendors.
