But I'm with you on this at the same time. A small difference in rolling diameter would seem unlikely to grenade a transfer case to me. Isn't the rule of thumb 5% is allowable?

Agree with this. That's like having an old OEM 275/40/20 up front and a brand-spanking new one on the other side.
