Manual swapping "insert anything" is always a possibility but this X5 will probably stay auto for the convenience factor and occasional towing. This E70 will be nice opportunity for me to familiarize myself with the M57 engine and my hunch as of know is it would be a strong candidate for engine swaps into other chassis. Speaking of MT swaps the E39 Touring is next on the list. I have all the goodies in the garage already, E39+V8+Touring+Manual=

F85 and E70 X5M brakes are. F10s require custom adapters which can be bough on eBay. There are some detailed threads covering this topic, just search around for more info.
