The difference in ride between sport and non-sport is not huge. But let's be clear - in non-sport you are still getting the advantages of Adaptive Drive.
Trust me from someone who has had it and lost it, you would miss it - but only if you have had it before. I suspect that most people don't care -the only ones who would/do care are those who have seen what it can do as well as what it does on a regular basis.
It is unfortunate that for 2013 and higher they made it such an expensive option. It wasn't like that in 2012. Yes it cost more, but was not crazy like it became.
