Both these vehicles are for Performance Driving at an extreme level. If you are not searching for mountain roads with lots of curves, and driving the vehicle hard and fast much of the time, then a 35i or 50i would be more practical. You are constantly breaking every law in the book if you try to use these vehicles to their potential. They will definitely cruize very nicely, but their real purpose is to pursue the limits in cornering, acceleration, and braking.
They will both do the same things, but the X6 will look better doing it imo. The only limitation would be the 4 versus 5 passengers with the X5.
