I coped the LUX V4's which allows the temp increase up to 12,000k. At lower temps like 6000k the inner/outer AE's are very white (even LCIish), but the outer lacks the same intensity (as described in your write up).
I increased the temp to 12,000k which gets to be extremely white with a blueish tint in both the inner/outer angel eye. It was little "too blue" of a look on the inner AE. So I currently have it set at 10,000k. Less of a blue tint, very intense outer ring.
I have to say, after reading yoru write up I'm kinda doubting my choice..
