Crap - looks like they changed the part number. That might be good based on all the issues I've been having with mine of late.
re:future iPhone...if they change the size/case, you have to get a new snap in adapter. Which is really bad because it took BMW almost a year to come out with one for the iPhone 4.

Lots and yes you can still plug things in. It takes up the right side of the center console - entire width and about 2" down (so the top 2" of the left side).
