Sip slowly and work on determining the various flavors. I was surprised at the almost sweet vanilla taste I could discern in the Glenlivet 12. That's why I'm anxious to try other barrels, especially the port and sherry.

I'm a beer and wine drinker, too. But whiskey is good when I want just one drink for the evening, like during the week.
