My local BMW inspected and replaced whole power steering gear, not just rings. They replaced with 32-10-6-799-623 (AS), 4 gasket rings, thermostat, coolant, power steering fluid, hydraulic fluid and coil spring. What about yours?

BMW knew about the issue in June, however it took them until July to send out a formal recall notice. Your X6 was likely held up until BMW received confirmation. Either the ring was replaced on your X6 or it was confirmed that the part in your car was okay, hence the delay in your vehicle getting shipped to dealer. Have you received a recall letter? I bet the answer is no!
