With the route I went you do not see anything different when the rack is not being used because the rack slides right into the section on the rear bumper where the two tow hooks screw in. You simply slide the rack in and tighten the two bolts and in about 3-5 minutes you can fully remove or install the bike rack. Great way to go if you do not need to use it everyday and the best part is that even when the bikes are on the rack, the rack will slide down and out of the way so you can open the trunk.
