Yes, we can run the 18's, if you go to bmwusa, and look under the vehicle accessory tab, you will see that the only size they sell for winter for the x5m is the 18" style 209. With the Dunlop grandtrek snow tire for $645 a piece, so 2600 for a set.
As for the Toyo Proxes ST2- stay away-definately not a tire for snow. Stick with the Dunlop-have had great sucess on my wifes 330xi, the nokian, the gislaved, pirelli or blizzak.
