Mine say 31mpg where it is a mixture of 15 mins 50mph and 5 mins town. Hit the autobahn and utilise the full power and it drops a bit! You won't do that though or you'll end up on holiday in a nice place....!!!! My colleague has an 4.0d and his also says 31mpg. The difference is the performance where despite the apparent, from the raw performance figures, little difference between 4 and 5 when you floor the 5.0d it takes off, especially at 80mph and above it keeps moving really quick. Question is though you can't use it in the UK?

To answer your question the economy does not kill the experience - economy is the same, unless you use the power!
