For a part that cost 100 bucks I wouldn't wait to see if it fails, I'd just replace it. It's a very easy replacement to do yourself. Hour or two tops.

You don't want to risk waiting to see if it goes as the damage could be catastrophic.

But that's just me. .

While i was in their replacing my transfer case I also replaced the rubber shock insulator on the rear drive shaft as they do get crispy from heat.

With the amount of torque these cars have I want to be on the side of caution
