BMW recalls X5 SUVs for faulty brakes

How many of you guys know about this or it's just a repost? Sorry if it is a repost
Quote:
BMW is recalling 30,265 X5 midsize SUVs due to a problem with the brakes, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The recall covers model-year 2007 to 2010 versions of the popular luxury SUV.

The affected vehicles are equipped with V-8 engines and were manufactured from Sept. 12, 2006, through March 18, 2010. The date the vehicles was built is pasted on a sticker on the driver-side doorjamb.

The issue centers around a brake vacuum pump, which could leak. If it does, the leak could interfere with the power brakes, causing them to not work properly and lead to a crash. BMW told NHTSA that so far, there have not been any accidents related to this issue.

BMW will notify owners later this month, and dealers will replace the brake vacuum line for free.
