Yea, stay away from the GL-5. Not good for some of material inside the transfer case.
I have a little hand pump I use. The fill hole is kind of hard to get to. I do not think you'll be able to fit a bottle up there. Maybe if you put a hose on the tip and squeeze it in. The hand pumps are cheap though.
