I believe Active Steering was a standalone option back in 2011 - so make sure the X6 35i you are looking at has it. I do think this option is one of the best you can get on the X.

Unfortunately it is not available on the M. However, the M's steering is much lighter than the standard X so it is probably a wash (you will however need to turn the wheel a lot more at lower speeds). Also, all of the X6/X5Ms have the adaptive drive.

I am surprised that the M you are looking at is certified - I thought they couldn't do that if there was accident history?

Either way, I don't think you will "hate" having the M. I have yet to see someone post here that did not love their M and.... you only live once....
