For a vehicle with 3rd row and sport suspension, it keeps the sport suspension, just gets the self leveling airbags in the back. The X5///M has sport suspension with adaptive drive, but has the self leveling airbags... Ironically, no 3rd row available in the M.

As for the rattle, I've done some reading and everything I've seen says that its the latch assembly for the rear hatch. I think part of it is the fact that its a two piece tailgate, so neither side of the latch are firmly attached to the body. If it were a standard style hatch (for example, the X3) then the bottom side of the latch would be bolted directly to the body, and there'd be no rattling. In the 2 yrs/15K miles I owned the 2012 X3, it had ZERO rattles...

I've read of some guys making adjustments and stuff to stop the rattle. I'm considering removing the latch bar and wrapping it in electrical shrink wrap. Of course, over time it'd get cut from the latch and eventually it'd rattle again...
