The running boards I just clean as a part of the regular wash and use the ultimate black on the trim around it. Just to throw something out there and not completely hijack your thread into another direction, but einszett cockpit premium is good to use on those black exterior parts as well. Doesn't seem to attract as much dust as some of the Meguiars products do.
