I decided to go ahead and install diffuser anyway, I got longer screws and everything went pretty well, there was a gap at the top and I used double sided 3M tape to secure it, it worked alright.

Tips need to be cut off, rear diffuser lines up perfect...how did that vhb tape work out for you? I'm going to remove both front and rear diffusers and use the vhb tape to close the gaps this weekend
You're not leaving that trunk roundel chrome are you? IND gloss black to match the badge(front and back)
