This is generally a good idea but I have first hand experience at replacing all of them instead of waiting for them to fail one-by-one.
The smoothness in the engine in acceleration, etc was much better after replacing them all
How about this for a reasonable strategy:
1 failed coil - replace it
2nd failed coil - replace the remaining coils with new ones
