As I said I had the same problem on my X5M. It was really loud. The service manager at McKenna in Downey said this is a common problem. For whatever reason it only happens in reverse. I was told it was only occurring on the X5 and X6 M models. They did brakes and rotors two weeks ago and I haven't heard it since. If it happens again u can bet I'll b paying them another visit....I think with problems of this nature it all comes down to the dealer's willingness to make the effort to solve the problem. In my case I purchased the vehicle as a demo from McKenna so they may have been more accommodating because of that. Good luck!
