My lease ends 8/12. I read on here that the production end for a 2012 X5 is 7/12. I also believe 2013 is the model year for the "new" X5? So, does that mean I could order a 2013 when I turn in my lease in 8/12? I think I will be really close....maybe a 30 to 60 day window before I could order a 2013. What I don't want to do is get a 2012 and have the new model come out 3 to 4 months later.

Has anyone been in this situation and did your dealer get creative if you were in a situation where waiting just a few months would allow you to get the next years model? Short term lease to bridge the gap, 3mos, 5mos, etc.?
