I did the same on my '11 X6M within about a week of buying it.
I totally agree.....a noticeable difference in the compliance (more) of the Conti's and I didn't notice any negative effect on the handling....but I'm not racing it either.
And.....you get a 50,000 mile pro-rated tread wear warranty to boot !!!!!!!!!
