Coming up on 6 weeks in the shop

My check engine light came on my 09 50i
Cause was a hose was cracked due to the heat from the turbos and was screwing up the air/fuel ratio.
This led to a high build up of carbon which BMW determined they needed to clean out.
So they had to pull the engine, do some disassembly and clean it.
With parts backordered, my X6 was in their shop for 5 weeks.
I picked it up, got 10 minutes away and the light came back on. Turns out it is still reading that the air/fuel ratio is off.
It will be 6 weeks tomorrow w/o my X6.
Is there a point when BMW says, it is too expensive to fix this problem, here's your money back? I cant see it being cheap to pull the engine, but to go back to work on it after all that they've done, that must get pretty pricey. And it sucks driving a 323 in place of my X6, although the seats are comfortable.
