Just spoke to them--here's the real story. BMW Factory mandates dealers to rotate out old batteries and replace them. The time frame for them to sit at dealers is 3 months. For some reason that did not occur with the first battery so they took it out and put a new one in.
Let's see how long the car lasts with this one. . . I will report back later.
