Apparently, the waste-gate was needing too much effort to move and actuator was unable to handle it (probably, can’t say for sure as both components were replaced together) so there wasn’t much of a electrical issue for OBD to report.

Interesting, hadn't really considered the wastegate failing. Thanks for following up. The turbos on our US version usually fail more spectacularly with oil leaks causing tons of smoke.
